Dancing Through Parkinson’s Instructor and Invertigo Board Member Linda Berghoff has been approached by Sydney Siegel, from the USC Keck School of Medicine and Suzanne Dworak-Peck, of the School of Social Work, to participate in their Art Rx Symposium on April 7, 2018. Sydney had previously visited a DTP class and saw Invertigo’s work at our 10th Anniversary event last fall. This forum honors Robin Williams, and will present discussions with inspirational artists and medical experts on the effects of creativity on physical and mental pain. Linda was invited to speak as a guest artist, discussing dance and its effect on movement disorders. We will also bring a group to demonstrate dances created in the DTP classes. DTP Associate Director Rachel Whiting has arranged a dance, which several dancers from both the Venice and Culver City classes are rehearsing and will perform. The symposium will take place at the USC Health Sciences Campus. We are told the event has already sold. For more information on this event, visit artrx.usc.edu - https://www.artrx.usc.edu/
